Sickness CertificateYou do not need a doctor's certificate for any illness lasting seven days or less. Your employer may, however, require you to complete a self-certificate form (SC2). You will need a doctor's certificate (Med 3 or Med 5) from the eighth day of illness and for any subsequent renewal of the certificate. The doctor cannot issue a Med 3 without seeing you.
